15 December 2015 — Third URS Provider Established
MFSD Srl (MFSD) has secured the third appointment by ICANN to administer the Uniform Rapid Suspension System. It is the first URS provider based in Europe.

Overview

The Uniform Rapid Suspension System is a rights protection mechanism that complements the existing Uniform Domain-Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) by offering a lower-cost, faster path to relief for rights holders experiencing the most clear-cut cases of infringement.

17 October 2013 — URS Technical Requirements 1.0 Published
Version 1.0 of the URS Technical Requirements document has been published. This document describes how Registries and Registrars will implement the Uniform Rapid Suspension System technical requirements in a consistent manner.

28 June 2013 — URS Rules Updated
Originally published on 04 March 2013, the URS Rules document has been updated to address a minor correction of omission and typos. We've provided a redline of changes for your convenience.

19 April 2013 — Second URS Provider
Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC) and ICANN have signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing ADNDRC as a Uniform Rapid Suspension System provider.

04 March 2013 — Official URS Rules
Describes how service providers will implement the Uniform Rapid Suspension System in a consistent manner.

01 March 2013 — Official URS Procedure
Explains how to file a claim, what fees will be incurred and other information.

20 February 2013 — First URS Provider
The National Arbitration Forum (FORUM) has secured the first appointment by ICANN to administer the Uniform Rapid Suspension System.

18 October 2012 — Uniform Rapid Suspension System at ICANN45 Toronto
Session focuses on implementation and establishing recommendations to ensure that goals are met. Includes a review of community input to date and discussion of other proposals.

03 October 2012 — ICANN Webinar on Recent Developments in the URS
Intended to prepare participants for ICANN45 Toronto.

24 September 2012 — Request for Information (RFI)
An RFI is published to solicit proposals for potential URS service providers.

27 June 2012 — Uniform Rapid Suspension System at ICANN44 Prague
A cross-community panel discusses (i) goals of the URS; (ii) changes to the current URS necessary to satisfy stated goals; and (iii) community collaboration during revision of the URS.
