Requests for ICANN's Signature on Amendments to Letter of Credit (LOC) Process

Upon receipt of amendments to existing LOCs from issuing bank, ICANN will follow the process below based on the type of amendment received:

Amendments not requiring ICANN's signature: ICANN will file the amendment and no further action will be taken. The applicant should ensure that the amendment is submitted in TAS with the response to the clarifying question (CQ).

Amendments requiring ICANN's signature, but is not connected to an open CQ: Applicant will be asked to submit a change request. Please refer to the process for submitting change requests at http://newgtlds.icann.org/en/applicants/customer-service/change-requests.

Amendments requiring ICANN's signature, and is connected to an open CQ: Applicant will be requested to submit a signed Acknowledgement regarding Letter of Credit. Applicants are encouraged to be proactive and send a signed Acknowledgement regarding Letter of Credit to the CSC early (before or at the time the amendment is issued by the bank), in order to expedite the processing of the amendment. The Acknowledgement regarding Letter of Credit should be signed by an individual authorized to sign legal documents on behalf of the applicant entity.

Once ICANN receives both, the amendment and the signed Acknowledgement regarding Letter of Credit, we will review and either sign or inform the applicant of any issues. The process of reviewing and signing (or informing the applicant of any issues) will take no more than 3 business days once ICANN receives both, the amendment and the signed Acknowledgement regarding Letter of Credit.
