Per the New gTLD Applicant Guidebook Specification 2, Part B.1, Applicants must use the data escrow services of an ICANN-approved data escrow agent.
Data escrow agents interested in becoming approved by ICANN must review and comply with the published criteria [PDF, 87 KB] and complete and return the application [DOC, 67 KB]. Instructions for completing the application can be found within the application.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to communicate this information to their respective, planned data escrow agents so that they and their templates of escrow agreements may be approved by ICANN in advance of pre-delegation testing to minimize the risk of delays during pre-delegation testing.
