Overview

The Uniform Rapid Suspension System is a rights protection mechanism that complements the existing Uniform Domain-Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) by offering a lower-cost, faster path to relief for rights holders experiencing the most clear-cut cases of infringement.

27 June 2012 — Uniform Rapid Suspension System at ICANN44 Prague
A cross-community panel discusses (i) goals of the URS; (ii) changes to the current URS necessary to satisfy stated goals; and (iii) community collaboration during revision of the URS.

24 September 2012 — Request for Information (RFI)
An RFI is published to solicit proposals for potential URS service providers.

03 October 2012 — ICANN Webinar on Recent Developments in the URS
Intended to prepare participants for ICANN45 Toronto.

18 October 2012 — Uniform Rapid Suspension System at ICANN45 Toronto
Session focuses on implementation and establishing recommendations to ensure that goals are met. Includes a review of community input to date and discussion of other proposals.
